Many people will tell you that it isn't a good idea to start a relationship at work. I am not one of those people. However, there are some factors that you should consider before you dazzle him with your charm.First of all before doing anything else, find out about your company's policy of dating within the workplace. Some companies frown upon it, others forbid it, and then there are some that could care less.
Also if this guy is your boss, or you are his boss, this is not a good thing. Bosses dating their employees are usually a big no-no within companies anyway, and it will most likely cause friction between you and the other employees if you are dating the boss.
Next, make sure that the guy you're interested in isn't married or in a relationship already. If he is, then forget about him. If he isn't, then he is fair game.
Now that you have the particulars out of the way, it's time to start attracting that hot guy at work.
This will sound grade school, but it is important. If you are out to attract a guy, make sure that you present yourself well. Bathe or shower regularly, fix your hair, put on some makeup if you wear it and dress nicely. Now I'm not saying that you should go to work all dolled up like you're ready to go to a ball, but take some pride in your appearance. No one is attracted to a slob.
Now you need to make your first move. This will be easy as you both have something in common already. You work together. When you get the chance, (or make one, but don't look too obvious), ask him a work related question. Something like, "do you know what tomorrow's meeting is about" (only of course if you are having a meeting), or "do you know if the schedule is up yet", or "do you think these fries are done"? You get the picture. After you make that first move, then you will be more comfortable the next time that you strike up a conversation.
I can't tell you what to say, you just have to play it by ear. However the best advice I can give you is this: do not gripe and complain about everything, do not act too eager or too interested, do not dominate the conversation, do not gossip about other workers and go on and on about how much you hate your job.
The best thing that you can do to attract a guy is to be pleasant, smile a lot, act like you are really interested in what he is saying, have self confidence and be someone that he wants to be around.
Sometimes it's not the best thing to get involved in a relationship at work, but many people have met their spouses that way and it's easy to see why. You are at the workplace for several hours a day and sometimes do not get the chance to meet people any other way. So it can be a good thing, and best of all you know he has a job.
All The Best, Joeley
